I got rid of Koken and managed to recreate the gallery using my own code: a very repetetive slog, but not overtaxing. And as soon as I’d finished? SharewareOnSale had jAlbum available for free… And that now drives the gallery…
Again, not too painful to get it online as a basic offering. It does look quite funky, but I need to add titles to most of the pics. Had a bit of trouble getting geolocation to show using Google Maps until I discovered that you need an API key from Google. Easy enough to set up a couple of keys (one for local testing and one for the site restricted to my domain). So, gallery now in its latest incarnation…
