As I suspected (and feared…) V-Juice have discontinued producing Mermaid Tears. VapingWizard have been claiming they had 5 bottles left at 3mg nicotine for ages, and I was saving that as a last resort, even though I run at just 1.5mg. Yesterday I placed an order for all 5; order accepted, email confirmed, payment taken from my account – then, shortly after, payment was refunded… So, they had zero bottles after all…
Had another search, and, weirdly, a new site to me appeared – MarketVapes – and they claimed to have 997 bottles at 0mg! What?! I put 3 in my basket – and they still showed 997 in stock… put 10 in my basket, still 997 available… Obviously this was all bollox, but what’s their game? No online reviews of this company, and a company search threw up a MarketVapes in Falkirk which closed down 2 years ago… I tried emailing them (they have only a Gmail contact address…), but got no reply after 2 days. So, sod it, I tried their (mobile) phone number and someone actually answered! Surprisingly, it was a pleasant, helpful, well-spoken bloke, who explained what was going on: they are a new outfit, still not completed setting up their website (but why put it online, then!), and the stock count figures are still a load of bollox. And they have zero Mermaid Tears, of course… So, another one bites the dust…
Finally, I phoned V-Juice themselves, and they confirmed that Mermaid Tears is discontinued. So that’s that, then. I have just 2 bottles left, and all attempts at finding a liquid or combination of liquids that mimic Mermaid Tears just quickly irritate my throat. It’s bloody annoying that it’s not necessary to list the ingredients on liquid bottles, so there’s no idea what the actual constituents are. A long conversation with ChatGPT suggested my comfort with Mermaid Tears might be down to low sucralose / low sweetness residue or very light or absent WS-23 cooling… Gibberish to me… I did mention WS-23 to the V-Juice bloke, but he had no idea either…
Now I have to plan how I’m going to wind down to no more vaping… Really looking forward to that…
