I mean… what can you say…? Extremely unlikely that I’m ever going to get Wordle in one with my regular starter, but this was astonishing luck! Heard a cuckoo calling while I was walking through Prior Royd this morning, Quite a rare event, really, as I’ve only heard (never seen) local ones in Greno Woods and the Chase before. Set off for a walk this morning and noticed 5 workmen clustered around a hole. Manhole cover was up, and I saw they were pulling cables through… So I asked them what it was for – and it seems they were pulling cables for Virgin Media! High speed internet is on its way to Greno
Seems that ridiculous parking along Winnats is hardly a new phenomenon! This photo (from Derbyshire Times) is from some time in the 1960s… And when you factor in car ownership being much lower back then, and general public awareness of the area, it’s maybe even more horrendous!
