I mean… what can you say…? Extremely unlikely that I’m ever going to get Wordle in one with my regular starter, but this was astonishing luck! I’ve had other twos before, but never starting from nothing. And I’d usually go with NORTH after an all-grey starter, but just thought “Sod it… try something new”.
Seriously scorchio today… Gone up to 32C here in Greno – which is 90F! Love sitting out soaking it all up in the back garden. But not today – I lasted 5 minutes… UPDATE 13th August: today clocking in at 33C late afternoon – the highest I’ve ever seen on my watch. Did try a

Was surprised while out on a walk this morning to see a red kite! First ever sighting around Greno, and good to think that raptors might be increasing in the area as buzzards are regularly spotted now. The red kite was seen for a few seconds, flying east to west over a cleared area on

Managed to get a good sighting of a fox this morning just before lunch. It was in the narrow passage between Greno Gate and Lump Lane. Thought it was a large ginger moggy at first – till I reconsidered on seeing long bushy tail and pointed face… It gave me a brief perusal, then trotted

At least it’s an easily identifiable bird sound! I can recognise quite a few songs/calls, but I just rely on the Merlin
I do like to download videos to the PC and then watch them on the big-screen TV. Which works fine using Windows File Sharing. Until it doesn’t. And it didn’t this morning. Admittedly, I’ve not used it for a while, during which time I’ve had Windows and TV software updates come through, but didn’t expect

Set off for a walk this morning and noticed 5 workmen clustered around a hole. Manhole cover was up, and I saw they were pulling cables through… So I asked them what it was for – and it seems they were pulling cables for Virgin Media! High speed internet is on its way to Greno
Seems that ridiculous parking along Winnats is hardly a new phenomenon! This photo (from Derbyshire Times) is from some time in the 1960s… And when you factor in car ownership being much lower back then, and general public awareness of the area, it’s maybe even more horrendous!
Finally managed to ditch Origin! Got through to complaints (South Africa, of course), and the woman said they’d been getting lots of calls about date issues – but she insisted my end date was still 3rd November and not 11th March… So I asked her what was the start date for this supposed contract –
The parcel from NB arrived yesterday. Just a smallish 20x10x10cm white box plus power cable and short ethernet cable. Very simple setup instructions: insert SIM and power on. I could see no trace of a SIM card, so assumed it must be preinserted – which was not the case because all it gave on power
