I suppose it had to happen sometime, but I’ve now had my first spam getting through Proton Mail – after over 4 months. And it’s to one of my email aliases rather than my main address; an alias that is used in only one place – the contacts page on this site!

… woke up to find my PC strangely silent… It refused to boot and so it was open-the-case time… It did initially get power, CPU fan spinning, but that soon cut out, and no attempt to access the drives. After a bit of fiddling I got the CPU fan to keep running, but nothing loading

Mel’s work for today was cancelled at last minute, so we decided to go off for lunch at the Ladybower Inn, seeing as it’s been a year since our last visit. But a bit surprised on arrival to see an array of beer kegs out front, and a notice telling people not to park there.

The last couple of times that I’ve been strimming the back lawn, a (young?) male blackbird has come to have a look. He seems very unafraid, getting within a metre of me while I chat random nonsense to him.

Much as I’ve enjoyed using Adobe Photoshop over these past 4 years, it’s now time to ditch it and return to Affinity. Adobe are becoming a pain in the arse with their policies, and do not inspire trust or belief at all now. Affinity have an offer of £59.99 for Photo + Designer + Publisher

Great to catch sight of a pair of buzzards circling for ages over the west side of Greno this afternoon. Not rarities, but they’re magnificent birds. And another one the next morning, very clear in the bright sunshine. Didn’t hang around long, though, as it was being harassed by a couple of jackdaws.

Not sure which is the more surprising – that Easter pic of gridlock, or this pic of an open-topped doubledecker (Peak Sightseer) about to tackle a clear Winnats.
