Weather this year has been atrocious so far. cold and rain almost every single day. But today looked promising, so an impromptu visit to Castleton. Would have preferred Edale! But too late starting off, so took the easy option. Turned out to be a glorious day weatherwise, so that was much appreciated!
Didn’t do any serious walking, just ambled about: up Goosehill a bit, up Cave Dale a bit, then on a new path for me – the well-named Dirty Lane (though perhaps Muddy Lane would be more accurate). All gentle and pleasant enough with nothing arduous. Finished off with lunch and a couple of pints of Leeds Pale (3.8%) in the garden of the Castle Inn.
