Quite by accident, I discovered why I must have lost my fixed IP address – Origin are now part of Talktalk! And have been since January, I believe. A bit of a shock, really – I’ve always considered TT to be avoided at all costs! I’m damn sure this was never communicated to me – if it had been, I would have tried to get out of my contract.
But… I must have had 6 months on TT’s network and had no problems (apart from the loss of fixed IP). Support is still provided by Origin as far as I can tell. And TT do seem to be getting their act together better from what I’ve read, and are rolling out FTTP. Unlikely to reach Grenoside in a hurry, but one lives in hope…
