Mermaids Facing Existential Threat

A few weeks back, Ecovapours announced a sale on lots of V-juice liquids, including Mermaid Tears, my single go-to liquid. Down from £13.99 to £9.99… great! Unfortunately, their stock amounted to a single bottle… Alarm bells started ringing: V-juice are a crap supplier to deal with, apparently, and was this signalling the end of the line? It certainly looked so…

Ecovapours have been my major supplier over the years, and they’ve given me excellent, reliable service. I’ve also bought from Vapingwizard (good, but take at least 3 days to deliver), and direct from V-juice (more expensive). Had a look at these last 2 sites – and both showed the liquid as out-of-stock… Checking all sites I could find did not come up with any stock anywhere… So, only one bottle in existence, which I grabbed quick. And panic set in…

Mermaid Tears is the only liquid that gets on with my throat, so the choice was between trying to adjust to some other liquid – or, horror of horrors, just stop. Apart from specifying VG/PG ratio, liquids do not have to list ingredients, so how to find a similar liquid that is compatible with my throat? Ask ChatGPT, of course…

Rather a long, very detailed, and circuitous discussion ensued, the upshot of which was to mix a 70/30 cherry-flavoured liquid with 50/50 Drifter Vanilla Custard in ratio 60/40. Must admit the custard is very smooth and creamy, but jury’s still out on my throat’s verdict – not helped by my usual miscellaneous allergy symptoms at this time of year…

I had been checking once or twice to see if any stock had magically come back anywhere, but no. Until, unexpectedly, Vapingwizard showed it had 6 bottles available! Quickly grabbed those, of course, as shown in the post image, though I do fear that these might well be the last 6 bottles in captivity… But, it’s bought me a few more weeks before having to make the big decision…
