Having just posted about Microsoft, and the words “pain in the arse” having strangely sprung to mind, I was thinking of a suitable word for that condition. “Analalgesia” sounded useful, but it seems the word already exists for something completely different… And, anyway, it would be a mix of Latin and Greek, and I’ve learnt from watching TV that such etymological hybrids are grating. So what to use? Perhaps “proktalgesia”? Looks impressive… Google it… Bugger… There’s already a word “proctalgia” that fits perfectly… Dear Google, you are proctalgesic, do one.
