… some time… Had an e-mail from Openreach this morning to say that they’ve added our address “to our build plans”. I suppose it’s reason for mild optism (and nice to know that Grenoside has not been forgotten in the grand scheme of things), but would be truly amazed if it happened this year.
I have been toying with taking out an unlimited deal with Tesco Mobile (around £25pcm) so that I could tether onto our good 5G from the PC (10 years old now…), but it would be only a partial solution. We were lucky to get FTTC in Greno back in 2011 thanks to the Digital Region initiative, and to keep it after DR went bust in 2014. But internet demands are a lot higher, and so many devices need connecting now. We’re certainly not struggling being on FTTC, but FTTP would certainly make a noticeable difference!
Exactly what the situation will be when OR finally bring us FTTP I do not know. Hopefully I’ll be able to move away from Origin/Talktalk and (ideally) back to AAISP. Just don’t want the only choice to be BT!
