I think I’m entitled to a little self-indulgence… I came across the letter I got from Oxford letting me know the results of my Prelim exams in 1969. Which includes the infamous 123% I was given for the maths paper. All I can think is that the examiimers must have set a limit on the number of questions that anyone was likely to answer correctly. Must say, it was the most enjoyable exam I’ve ever sat, and I went to town on it, having a go at everything, I think. Now, I don’t even understand the questions, let alone being able to answer anything!
The exam paper can be found on this page for anyone interested.
