Western Region Sheds
The shed is at the north side of the junction of the Reading and High Wycombe lines two miles west of Westbourne Park. It is separated from the line by the carriage sheds and the yard is not visible from the line.
Leave Willesden Junction (L.M.R. and L.T.E.) Station by the approach road, and turn left into Old Oak Lane. Turn left again into Old Oak Common Lane and a drive leads to the shed from a gate on the left-hand side. Walking time 10 minutes.

The shed is on the south side of the main line near to the junction of the Windsor line west of the station. The yard is visible from both lines.
Turn right outside the station into the approach road. Cross William Street at the end, and enter the car park. The shed entrance is an opening on the right hand side. Walking time 5 minutes.
The shed is in the fork of the main and Brentford lines at the east end of the station. The yard is visible from both lines.
Turn right outside the station along South Road and right into Park Avenue. Turn right over a footbridge that crosses the railway. A flight of steps leads from the centre of this bridge to the shed. Walking time 5 minutes.
The shed is in the fork of the Newbury and Didcot lines west of Reading General Station. The yard is visible from both lines.
Turn right outside Reading General Station along Tudor Road. Turn left into Caversham Road and right into Great Knollys Street. A cinder path leads across a piece of waste land (opposite house No. 145) from the right-hand side of this road to the shed. Walking time l0 minutes.
The shed is on the east side of the Oxford line north of the station. The yard is not visible from this line, but is partially visible from the avoiding line.
A subway connects the station platforms and extends to a flight of steps north of the station. A cinder path leads from the top of the steps to the shed. Walking time 5 minutes.
The shed is on the west side of the line north of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn right out of the yard on the down (west) side of the station into Cripley Road and continue into Abbey Road (cul-de-sac). Turn left along a cinder path at the end and then right over the carnal footbridge. Turn right along the towing path and the shed entrance is about 20 yards further on the left. Walking time 5 minutes.
82A BRISTOL (BATH ROAD) (Diesel depot)
The shed is on the east side of the line at the south end of Bristol Temple Meads Station. The yard is visible from the line.
Go straight ahead across the yard outside the main exit from Temple Meads Station. Turn left at the bottom of the hill along Temple Gate continuing into Bath Road. The shed entrance is a gate on the left-hand side just past the railway under-bridge. Walking time 5 minutes.

82B BRISTOL (ST. PHILIP’S MARSH)
The shed is on the south side of the Bristol avoiding line, just before the junction with the Taunton line. The yard is visible from the line.
Go straight ahead across the yard outside the main exit from Temple Meads Station. Turn left at the bottom of the hill along Temple Gate continuing into Bath Road. Pass the entrance to Bath Road shed and a few yards further on turn first left into an alley (May Walk). (This turning is not too conspicuous.) Go through this alley and continue over the bridge at the side of the railway. Go down the steps at the end and continue along at short road that runs parallel to, but below the railway. There is in gate opposite the end of this road and a cinder path leads through it to the shed. Walking time 15 minutes.

82C SWINDON
The shed is on the north side of the Gloucester line west of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn right outside Swindon Station along Station Road. Contiuue into Sheppard Street and London Street. The shed entrance is a gate on the right-hand side. Walking time 10 minutes.
Note.—This gate is the official entrance to both the works and the shed. A tunnel leads to the shed buildings.
82D WESTBURY
The shed is on the south side of the line west of the station. The yard is not visible from the line.
A private road leads from the west end of the station yard to the shed. Walking time 5 minutes.
FROME
The shed is on the west side of the line south of the station.The yard is visible from the line. Access to the shed is effected from the station yard through the goods yard. Walking time less than 5 minutes.
82E BRISTOL (BARROW ROAD)
The shed is on the west side of the Fishponds line about ¾ mile north of Temple Meads Station. The yard is visible from the line.
Go straight ahead across the yard outside the main exit from Temple Meads Station. Turn left at the bottom of the hill into Temple Gate, and first left into Cattle Market Road, leading under the station. Continue into Feeder Road, and turn left into Avon Street. Proceed under the railway bridge, and turn right into Oxford Street, continuing into Day’s Road. Turn left at the end into Barrow Road, and the shed entrance is on the left-hand side in the centre of a long bridge. Walking time 15 minutes.
Bristol Omnibus Company Service No. 83 operates from Temple Gate to the end of Barrow Road. Walk along Barrow Road, and the shed entrance is on the right-hand side.
Route from St. Philip’s Marsh
Turn right outside the shed entrance into Victoria Road. Continue into Avon Street, and proceed as above. Walking time 15 minutes.
82F BATH (GREEN PARK)
The shed is on the north side of the line west of Bath Green Park Station. The yard is visible from the line.
From Bath Green Park Station
Turn right outside the station along Midland Bridge Road. Turn right imo Lower Bristol Road and right again into Bridge Road. A cinder path leads to the shed from the right-hand side of this road just past the railway bridge. Walking time 10 minutes.
From Bath Spa Station
Turn left outside the station into Dorchester Street and left at the end into Southgate Street. Cross the river by Old Bridge, and turn right into Westmorland Buildings, keeping as close to the railway as possible. Continue into Lower Bristol Road passing the end of Midland Bridge Road and continue as above. Walking time 20 minutes.
RADSTOCK
The shed is on the south side of the line east of Radstock North Station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn sharp right outside Radstock North Station along a road running parallel to the line. Turn right into a rough road leading over the line and a path leads to the shed from the right-hand side. Walking time 5 minutes.

82G TEMPLECOMBE
The shed is on the east side of the Wincanton-Henstridge line north of the point where it goes under the main Waterloo-Exeter line. The yard is visible from the Wincanton-Henstridge line and the connecting spur.
Turn left outside the main line station along the approach road. Turn left under the railway bridge and first right before the second railway over—bridge. A broad path leads to the shed from the left-hand side of this road, just after the railway under-bridge. Walking time 5 minutes.
The entrance to the low level platform is on the opposite side of the road to the shed entrance.
The shed is at the east side of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn left outside the station into Station Road and continue along Torquay Road. Turn first left after crossing the railway bridge. The shed entrance is on the left -hand side of this road. Walking time 5 minutes.
Note.—The works are at the back of the shed. The entrance is further along the road.
The shed is on the south side of the line at the west end of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
The shed entrance is a gate off the down platform at the west end of the station. There is also an entrance in Station Road, just outside the station.
The shed is at the west side of Exeter St. David’s Station. The yard is visible from the line. .
A boarded crossing leads from the south end of the station platforms to the shed.
Sub-shed: TIVERTON JUNCTION
The shed is on the south side of the main line about two miles east of Plymouth Station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn right outside Plymouth Station along the approach road and turn left into St. George’s Street. Turn left into North Road and left into Tavistock Road. Continue along Alexandra Road and Laira Old Road. After a considerable distance turn right into Brandon Road. This is a cul-de-sac and a footpath leads from the end under the railway, to the shed. Walking time 50 minutes.
Board any bus labelled City outside Plymouth Station and alight at the City Centre. Change on to a No. 21 Plympto bus and alight at Brandon Road.
Sub-shed: LAUNCESTON
The shed is on the west side of a goods line between Par Harbour and the junction with the Par-Luxulyan line near St. Blazey Station (closed).
Turn right along a cinder path outside Par Station. Turn right at the end of this path, under a railway bridge, and over a level-crossing. Bear right and the shed entrance is a gate on the right-hand side. Walking time 10 minutes.

The shed is on the north side of the line west of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn right outside the station along Station Road. Turn right over the railway bridge at the top of the hill and right again just the other side. A path leads from the right-hand side of this road to the shed. Walking time 10 minutes.
The shed is on the north side of the line mid-way between ll/Iarazion and Penzance Stations. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn sharp right outside Penzance Station along the main road to the east (A30). The shed entrance is on the right-hand side. Walking time 25 minutes.

The shed is on the south side of a goods line about ¾ mile east of Friary Station (closed).
Turn right outside Plymouth Station into the station yard. Turn left into Saltash Road and continue along Coburg Street into Pound Street. Turn right into Tavistock Road, left into Ebrington Street and continue along Beaumont Road. Pass Friary Station (closed) on the right, and turn right into Tothill Road. Turn left into Knighton Road, parallel to the railway, and right into Bulmer Road. Proceed under the railway bridge and turn left into Desborough Road. The shed entrance is on the left-hand side. Walking time 35 minutes.
Western National bus service No. 6 (Hooe) operates from Saltash Road to Friary Station.
From Laira
Turn left outside the back of Laira shed and go along the cinder path under the loop line (Lipston Junction to Mount Gould Junction). Continue across a piece of waste land and ascend a flight of steps. Bear left at the top along Beaumont Road. Turn left into Heathfield Road, right into Lanhydrock Road and left into Lucas Terrace. The shed entrance is on the right-hand side.
The shed is on the west side of the main line north of Wolverhampton Low Level Station. The yard is visible from the line, and is partially visible from the Wolverhampton High Level-Stafford line.
From Wolverhampton Low Level Station
Turn right outside Wolverhampton Low Level Station into the drive. Turn left at the end of the drive into Wednesfield Road, continue along Broad Street to Princes Square and proceed as from High Level Station.
From Wolverhampton High Level Station
Go straight ahead outside Wolverhampton High Level Station along Railway Drive. Continue straight across the square at the end of Railway Drive into Lichfield Street. Turn right into Princes Square.
Turn right at Princes Square into Stafford Street and continue along Lower Stafford Street and Stafford Road. The shed entrance is a door in the wall on the right-hand side just past a railway over-bridge. Walking time 20 minutes. A trolley bus service operates from Princes Square to the shed door.
From Dunstall Park Station (closed on Sunday)
Turn left outside the station into Stafford Road, and the shed entrance is on the left hand side. Walking time less than 5 minutes.
The shed is on the west side of the line north of the station and Stafford Road shed. The yard is not visible from the line.
Follow the same routes from the stations as for Stafford Road shed but continue along Stafford Road past the entrance to that shed. Turn first left past the canal bridge along Jones Road. This road ends by a railway viaduct and there is a gate on the right hand side by one of the viaduct pillars. The left—hand cinder path from this gate leads to the shed. Walking time from the stations 30 minutes. A trolley bus service operates between Princes Square and the end of Jones Road.
Note.—Bushbury Lane is the second turning on the right off Stafford Road after Jones Road.
The shed is on the west side of the line, south of Banbury Station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn left out of Banbury Station yard into a narrow road running parallel to the railway. This turns into a cinder track and leads to the shed. Walking time 10 minutes.
The shed is on the east side of the line south of Leamington Spa General Station. The yard is partially visible from the line and from the Leamington Spa Avenue—Rugby line.
Turn left outside Leamington Spa General Station into Old Warwick Road. Continue into High Street and Radford Road. Turn right into Camberwell Terrace and continue along the path that leads under the two railway bridges into Warneford Place. There is a gate on the left-hand side just past the second bridge. A cinder path leads under a railway bridge from this gate to the shed. Walking time 15 minutes.

Turn right outside the station and fork right at the end of the bridge into Wharfedale Road. Continue into Warwick Road, and the shed entrance is on the right-hand side. Walking time 5 minutes.

The shed is on the west side of the Wolverhampton line north of Stourbridge Junction Station. The yard is visible from the line.
From Stourbridge Junction Station
Turn right outside Stourbridge Junction Station along the approach road. Turn left into Brook Road and right into Red Hill. Continue along Church Road and High Street through the town, into Stourbridge Road. Turn right into a broad cinder path between a level—crossing and the gas works. Bear left up a bank and the shed entrance is on the right—hand side. Walking time 30 minutes.
From Stourbridge Town Station
Turn left out of the yard in front of Stourbridge Town Station into Foster Street and turn right into High Street. Then follow the directions as given above. Walking time 20 minutes.
Note.-The shed consists of two separate buildings.
The shed is on the south side of the Bewdley line. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn sharp right from the station yard into Comberton Road. Turn first right into Farfield and bear left with this road. Turn right at the end into the main road and about 250 yards further on, turn right along a cinder path. Continue over the railway footbridge and turn left into Hoo Road at the end of the path. A cinder path leads to the shed from the right-hand side of this road, just past a railway under-bridge. Walking time 20 minutes.
The shed is on the north side of the line at the east end of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
Ascend the steps opposite the station entrance and turn left along The Parade parallel to the line. Turn left at the end into Victoria Road and the shed entrance is on the left just past the railway under-bridge. Walking time 5 minutes.
85A WORCESTER
The shed is in the triangle of the Shrub Hill-Foregate Street-Droitwich lines. The yard is partially visible from all three lines.
From Shrub Hill Station
Turn right outside Worcester Shrub Hill Station along a narrow footpath running parallel to the railway. Go down the steps at the end of the path and turn left into Tolladine Road. Another footpath leads from the right-hand side of this road (about 50 yards further on) to the shed. Walking time 5 minutes.
From Foregate Street Station
Turn left outside Worcester Foregate Street Station into Foregate Street. Turn left into Sansome Street and continue into Lowesmoor. Fork right into Lowesmoor Place and continue into Tolladine Road. A footpath leads to the shed from the left-hand side of this road just before the railway over-bridge. Walking time 15 minutes.
Note.—The works are on the oppasite side of the line to the shed and the entrance is in Tolladine Road.

Turn right outside the station and right again into a subway leading under the station. Turn right into Great Western Road and right again into Horton Road, The shed entrance is on the right-hand side just before the level-crossing. Walking time 15 minutes.
From Gloucester Eastgate Station
Go straight ahead outside the station and turn left into Station Road. Turn left into Barton Street, left into Millbrook Street and left into Derby Road. Continue over the level-crossing into Horton Road and the shed entrance is on the left-hand side. Walking time 15 minutes.
CHELTENHAM (MALVERN ROAD)
The shed is at the west side of Cheltenham Spa Malvern Road Station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn left outside Cheltenham Spa Malvern Road Station along the approach road. Turn left at the end into Malvern Road. A cinder path leads to the shed from the left-hand side, just past the end of a block of houses. Walking time 5 minutes.
LYDNEY
The shed is on the south side of the Severn and Wye line between Lydney Town and Lydney Junction Stations. The yard is visible from the line.
From Lydney Junction Station
Turn right along Station Road outside Lydney Junction Station and the shed entrance is on the right. Walking time 5 minutes.
From Lydney Town Station (temporarily closed owing to damage to Severn Bridge).
Turn left outside Lydney Town Station along Hill Street. Turn left into Bathurst Road and half right along a footpath through the park. Continue into Church Road and Station Road. The shed entrance is a door on the left-hand side. Walking time 15 minutes.

The shed is on the north side of the main Gloucester—Cheltenham line about ½ mile north of the junction at the end of the two Gloucester Stations. (The line is running east—west by the shed). The yard is visible from the line.
From Gloucester Eastgate Station
Go straight ahead outside the station and turn left into Station Road. Turn left into Barton Street, left into Millbrook Street and left into Derby Road. 85D BROMSGROVE
The shed is on the east side of the line at the south end of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
A path runs from the down platform to the shed.
Sub-shed: REDDITCH
The shed is on the north side of the main line about a mile west of Newport Station. The top of the yard is visible from the line.
Bear left across the yard on leaving Newport Station and turn right into High Street. Fork left into Commercial Street and turn right into Cardiff Road. Continue for about a mile, and turn left into a drive after going under the railway bridge. This leads to the shed. Walking time 45 minutes.
Newport Corporation bus service No. 3 (Tredegar Park) operates from Dock Street (a few minutes walk from the station) past the drive leading to the shed.
The shed is in Newport Dockland.
Bear left across the yard on leaving Newport Station and turn right into High Street. Fork left into Commercial Street and continue into Commercial Road. Bear right into Alexandra Road and turn right into Watch House Parade. The entrance to the docks is at the end of this road. The shed is on the right—hand side of the dock road just past the entrance. Walking time 30 minutes.
Note.—This entrance is sometimes closed at which times the main dock entrance should be used.
Newport Corporation bus service No. 9 (Docks) operates from Dock Street (a few minutes walk from the station) to Watch House Parade.
Route from Ebbw
Turn right along Cardiff Road outside the shed entrance and after about ¾ mile turn right into Mendalgief Road. The dock entrance is at the end of this road by the junction with Watch House Parade. Walking time 25 minutes.
The shed is on the west side of the Hereford avoiding line (goods) by Barton Goods Yard.
Turn left outside the station along Station Road and right into Commercial Road. Continue along High Town and High Street into Eign Street. Turn left into Victoria Road, right into Barton Street and continue into Barton Road. The shed entrance is a gate on the right-hand side just past the railway under-bridge. Walking time 25 minutes.
The shed is on the north side of the junction of the Swindon and Gloucester lines east of the station. The yard is partially visible from the Gloucester line.
Turn right outside the station along a cinder path running _ parallel to the line. This path leads to the shed. Walking time 10 minutes.
The shed is on the west side of a goods line between Aberbeeg and Llanhilleth Stations (both closed).
A narrow road leads down a steep hill to Glandwr at the bottom of the valley from the west side of the main Llanhilleth to Aberbeeg road (A467) about midway between the two towns. A path leads to the shed from the left-hand side of this narrow road just past the railway under-bridge. Red and White bus services Nos. 122 (Brynmawr), 142 (Brynmawr) and 145 (Ebbw Vale) operate from Newport Bus Station (Dock Street) along the main road (A467) between Llanhilleth and Aberbeeg. Alight at the road to Glandwr, about 200 yards north of the Walpole Inn. Service No. 122 also passes the approach road to Pontypool Road Station.
The shed is on the west side of the Newport line, by the junction of the Aberdare line, south of Pontypool Road Station. The yard is is visible from both lines.
Turn right outside the station along the approach road. Cross the main road at the top of the hill, and continue into a drive leading down a steep slope. Continue along a cinder path running parallel to the line. A boarded crossing leads from the right-hand side of this path to the shed. Walking time 5 minutes.
87A NEATH (COURT SART)
The shed is on the west side of the main line about one mile south of Neath General Station. The yard is partially visible from the line.
Turn right outside Neath General Station into Windsor Road. Bear right into Briton Ferry Road and continue for about a mile. Turn right into Collins Street. Cross the footbridge at the end and a cinder path leads to the shed. Walking time 35 minutes.
NEATH (N & B) (BRIDGE STREET)
The shed is on the west side of the Brecon line north of Neath Riverside Station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn left outside Neath General Station into Station Square and continue into The Parade. Turn left into Croft Road and continue into Bridge Street. Turn right at the end into Cadoxton Road, and a private drive leads to the shed from the right-hand side, just past the railway over-bridge. Walking time 20 minutes.
GLYN NEATH
The shed is on the north side of the line east of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
A boarded crossing leads from the station approach road to the shed.
87B DUFFRYN YARD (PORT TALBOT)
The shed is on the east side of the Port Talbot-Maesteg line. This line is now closed to passenger traffic.
Turn right outside Port Talbot General Station along Margam Terrace, and continue parallel to the line. Turn left by the level crossing for a very short distance, and right along Talbot Road (main road to Cardiff, A48). Turn left by the Talbot Arms Hotel into Duffryn Road. The shed entrance is on the left-hand side of this road about ½ mile further on just past the junction of Field Terrace. Walking time 20 minutes.
Note.-—A new diesel depot is under construction at Margam.
87C DANYGRAIG (Diesel depot)
The shed is on the south side of the R. & S.B. line west of Jersey Marine Station (closed). There is now no passenger service on this line.
Turn left outside Swansea High Street Station along High Street. Continue along Castle Street, Wind Street and turn left at the traflic lights immediately after going under the railway bridge into Quay Parade. Cross the river bridge, and continue along the new main dual-carriageway to Port Talbot (A483). After about two miles bear left into the old main road (by the chain works owned by Tom Smith and Clarke Ltd.). Bear left again into a private road leading to Kings Dock Steel Works. The shed entrance is on the left-hand side a few yards further on. Walking time 55 minutes.
United Welsh bus services Nos. 23, 26 and 27 (Neath via Jersey Marine) operate from Swansea Coach Station, and pass the shed.
87D SWANSEA EAST DOCK
The shed is on the north side of the line east of Swansea East Dock Station (closed). This line is now closed to passenger traffic.
Turn left outside Swansea High Street Station along High Street. Continue into Castle Street, Wind Street and turn left at the traffic lights immediately after going under the railway bridge into Quay Parade. Cross the river bridge, and continue along the new main dual-carriageway to Port Talbot (A483). The shed entrance is on the right, about ½ mile further on. Walking time 30 minutes.
A bus service labelled Port Tennant operates from the town close to the shed. The United Welsh services from Swansea to Neath via Jersey Marine pass close to this shed and Danygraig.
UPPER BANK
The shed is on the west side of the line north of Upper Bank Station (closed). The yard is visible from the line.
There is a path from the station to the shed. Walking time less than 5 minutes.
South Wales Transport bus service No. 80 operates from Swansea High Street Station, and services Nos. 3, ll, 19 and 38 operate from St. Mary’s Square, Swansea, to the Post Office, Pentrechwyth. A path leads down the hill side to Upper Bank Station from the main road (B4292) close to this point.
87E LANDORE (Diesel depot)
The shed is in the fork of the Landore-Swansea and Landore-Cockett lines. The yard is partially visible from both lines.
Turn right outside Swansea High Street Station along High Street. Fork right into Prince of Wales Road, and continue along Neath Road. A drive leads to the shed from the left-hand side between the two railway over-bridges. Walking time 20 minutes.
The Morriston bus service operates past High Street Station and the shed.
Note.-This shed is temporarily closed. The steam shed has been demolished, but the replacement diesel depot is still under construction.
87F LLANELLY
The shed is adjacent to Llanelly dock land. No passenger services pass the shed.
Turn right outside the station and right over the level-crossing at the east end into New Dock Road. Turn left into Dolau Road and bear under several railway bridges into Embankment Road. The shed entrance is a gate on the left just past the last railway over-bridge. Walking time 20 minutes.
PANTYFFYNNON
The shed is on the west side of the Ammanford line north of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn right over the level crossing at the north end of the station and bear sharp left almost immediately. A cinder path leads to the shed from the right-hand side of this road. Walking time 5 minutes.

87G CARMARTHEN
The shed is on the east side of the line south of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn right outside the station along the approach road, right again over the railway bridge and fork right at the end of this bridge. A cinder path leads to the shed from the right-hand side of this road. Walking time 5 minutes.
The shed is situated between the lines leading to the two station platforms. The yard is visible from the lines.

The shed is on the west side of the line south of Fishguard and Goodwick Station. The yard is visible from the line.

88A CARDIFF (CANTON)
The shed is on the south side of the main line west of Cardiff General Station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn left outside Cardiff General Station along the side of Central Square. Turn left again by Wales Empire Pool into Wood Street, and cross the river. Continue along Tudor Street and then Ninian Park Road. Turn left into DeCroche Place (a short cul-de-sac) about 200 yards past the junction of Clare Road. A footbridge leads to the shed from the end of this cul-de-sac. Walking time 10 minutes.
Note.—This shed is closed temporarily pending conversion to a diesel depot. Diesel locomotives are serviced in the adjoining carriage sheds.
88B RADYR
The shed is on the west side of the Taff Vale main line between Llandaff and Radyr Stations. The yard is partially visible from the line.
A cinder path leads to the shed from the south end of Radyr Station, parallel to the main line. Walking time 10 minutes.
88C BARRY
The shed is on the south side of the line, east of Barry Station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn right outside Barry Station into Broad Street. Turn rirst right under the railway bridge. A cinder path leads from the right-hand side of this road to the shed. Walking time 5 minutes.
88D MERTHYR
The shed is on the east side of the line south of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn right outside the station across the station yard and continue along a short footpath into Tramroad Side North. Continue along this narrow road for about 200 yards and the shed entrance is on the right-hand side. Walking time 10 minutes.
DOWLAIS CAE HARRIS
The shed is on the west side of the line about 150 yards south of Dowlais (Cae Harris) Station. The yard is visible from the line.
Entrance to the shed is effected from the station. Walking time less than 5 minutes.
RHYMNEY
The shed is on the west side of the line at the south end of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
Entrance to the shed is effected from the station platform.

The shed is on the east side of the line at the north end of the station. The yard is visible from the line.

88F TREHERBERT
The shed is on the north side of the line east of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
Go straight ahead outside the station and turn first right by the Railway Hotel. Turn left at the end and first right into Cwmsaerbren Street. The shed entrance is at the end of this street. Walking time 5 minutes.
FERNDALE
The shed is on the west side of the line north of the station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn right outside the station along Taff Street running parallel to the railway. This is a cul-de-sac and a path leads to the shed from a gate at the end. Walking time 5 minutes.
88G LLANTRISANT
The shed is on the north side of the junction of the main and Coed Ely lines west of the station. The yard is partially visible from the line.
Turn left outside the station into the approach road. Continue through the gate at the end into the goods yard and follow the metals until the shed is reached. Walking time 10 minutes.
88H TONDU
The shed is in the fork of the Maesteg and Ogmore Valley lines at the north end of the station. The yard is partially visible from these lines.
A boarded crossing leads from the station to the shed.
88J ABERDARE
The shed is on the north side of the line west of Aberdare H.L. Station. The yard is visible from the line.
From Aberdare High Level Station
Leave the station by the short approach road, and turn left under the bridge. After a few yards turn left into the goods yard at the end of Abernant Road. A path leads through this goods yard to the shed. Walking time 10 minutes.
From Aberdare Low Level Station
Turn right outside the station into Duke Street, and right into Commercial Street passing over a level crossing, and under a railway bridge. Turn left into the goods yard at the end of Abernant Road and a cinder path leads through this goods yard to the shed. Walking time 10 minutes.
88L CARDIFF EAST DOCK
The shed is in the heart of Cardiff Dockland.
Turn right outside Cardiff General Station into Saunders Road, cross St. Mary’s Street and continue into Customhouse Street. Turn right under the railway bridge into Bute Street, and after a short distance left into Herbert Street. After mile, just before a level crossing, and almost opposite the Cambridge Bar, turn right into the Docks. The shed entrance is on the left hand side of this docks road about ¾ mile further on. Walking time 35 minutes.
Board a No. 16 (Pier Head) bus in St. Mary’s Street, and alight at the main entrance to the Docks opposite James Street. Enter the Docks, and proceed in an easterly direction crossing three small swing bridges. The first is over the entrance to Bute West Dock, the second is between Bute East Basin and Bute East Dock and the third is between Bute East Dock and Roath Basin. The shed is on the left—hand side of this road few yards further on.
88M CATHAYS (Diesel depot)
The shed is on the west side of the Llandaff line about ¾ mile north of Cardiff Queen Street Station. The yard is visible from the line.
Turn right outside Cardiff General Station into Saunders Road. Turn left into St. Mary’s Street and continue into High Street. Turn right into Duke Street and left almost immediately into Kingsway. Continue into North Road and turn right into Corbett Road. The shed entrance is on the left-hand side just before the railway under—bridge. Walking time 25 minutes.

89A SHREWSBURY
The shed is in the east side of the Shrewsbury-Hereford line south of the station. The yard is partially visible from the line.
Turn left out of the station along Castle Gates and continue into Castle Street. Turn left into St. Mary’s Street, continue along Dogpole and turn left into Wyle Cop. Cross the English Bridge and turn right along Coleham Head. Fork left along Betton Street and turn left along Scott Street (over two railway bridges). The shed entrance is a door on the left-hand side. Walking time 25 minutes.

89B CROES NEWYDD
The shed is in the triangle formed by the Ruabon-Wrexham-Brymbo lines. The yard is not visible from the main line; there is no passenger service on the other lines.
Leave Wrexham General Station by the main exit. Turn left into Regent Street and right into Bradley Road. Turn right into Watery Road and a path leads to the shed over a boarded crossing from a gate on the left~hand side, just past the level-crossing. Walking time 15 minutes.

Turn left outside the station into Alexandra Road and left into Park Avenue. A path leads from the end of this road to the shed. Walking time 5 minutes.

89D OSWESTRY
The shed is in the fork of the Gobowen and Whitchurch lines east of the station. The. yard is visible from both lines.
Turn right outside the station and left along the side of the goods yard. Turn right into Beatrice Street and continue into Gobowen Road. Fork right into Whittington Road, go under the railway bridge and the shed entrance is on the right-hand side of this lane. Walking time 15 minutes.
