ASHFORD
Turn left outside the down (southbound) side of the station, or right outside the up (northbound) side. Turn left into the road that leads over the bridge at the north end of the station, and almost immediately left again into a private S.R. road running parallel to the line. The works entrance is on the left-hand side about ½ mile further on. Walking time 10 minutes.

CAERPHILLY
Turn right outside the station into Cardiff Road, and right into Bartlett Street. Turn left into White Street, and continue into Clifton Street. Turn right into Van Road which turns into a lane after passing under a railway bridge. About ½ mile after turning into Van Road, turn right by the Van Annexe to Caerphilly District Miners Hospital. This is a short road leading to the works. Walking time 20 minutes.

COWLAIRS (GLASGOW)
A footbridge leads from the station platform to the works.

From Glasgow Main Line Termini to Cowlairs Station
Board a No. 45 (Bishopbriggs) or No. 55 (Springburn) bus in Jamaica Street, Union Street or Renfield Street, or a No. 53 (Springburn) has in Hope Street, and alight at Cowlairs Road. Walk to the end of this road and ascend the flight of steps to the station platform.

CREWE
Mill Street Entrance
Turn left outside the station into Nantwich Road. Turn right at the first set of traffic lights into Mill Street. Pass under the railway bridge, and the works entrance is on the right-hand side. Walking time 10 minutes.

Deviation Entrance
Proceed as above and bear left with Mill Street into High Street. Cross Eddleston Road into Eaton Street and the entrance is at the end of this cul-de-sac. Walking time 15 minutes.

A bus service operates from the station past the end of Eaton Street.

DARLINGTON
Leave Darlington Station by the approach road running north. Turn left at the bottom into Parkgate and continue into Tubwell Row. Turn right at the top into Northgate and continue into North Road. The works entrance is on the left-hand side nearly a mile further on, just past Whessoe Road. Walking time 30 minutes.

A bus labelled Harrowgate Hill operates along Yarm Road and passes the works entrance. In the reverse direction the service is labelled Eastbourne or Lingfield Lane.

DERBY
Station Entrance
A footbridge leads to the works from the yard outside Derby Midland Station.

Siddals Road Entrance
Turn right outside the station into Siddals Road and first right along a private road. This leads under the railway to the works entrance. Walking time 5 minutes.

DONCASTER
Hexthorpe Road Entrance
Cross the station yard turning half right into Station Road. Turn right into St. Sepulchres Gate, and right over St. James Bridge. Continue into Bridge Terrace, and the entrance is on the right at the corner of Hexthorpe Road. Walking time l0 minutes.

Station Entrance
A footbridge leads from the station yard to the works.

EASTLEIGH
Turn left outside the station into the main Southampton Road. Turn first left into Campbell Road and cross the railway. The works entrance is on the left-hand side just past the end of the bridge. Walking time 5 minutes.

GATESHEAD
From Gateshead East Station
Turn left outside the station and almost immediately right into Half Moon Lane. Continue under a low railway bridge and ascend a short flight of steps on the left-hand side immediately under the bridge. A paved path leads from the top of these steps past the rear of Gateshead West Station to the works. Walking time 5 minutes.

From Gateshead West Station
Turn right outside the station into a narrow street and bear right almost immediately into Half Moon Lane. Follow directions as from Gateshead East Station. Walking time 5 minutes.

Note.—The works adjoin the shed.

GORTON
From Gorton and Openshaw Station
Turn left outside the station into Lees Street, left into Ogden Lane and left again into Cantwell Street (formerly Cornwall Street). The works entrance is on the right-hand side. Walking time 10 minutes.

From Manchester Main Line Termini
Board a No. 218 (Stalybridge) or 219 (Ashton) trolley bus in Piccadilly or London Road and alight at Cantwell Street (formerly Cornwall Street). Walk along this street and the works entrance is on the right-hand side.

HORWICH
Go straight ahead outside the station into Drinkwater Lane. Turn right at the end into Chorley New Road. The works entrance is a few yards further on the left hand side. Walking time 10 minutes.

Bus services Nos. 33 and 35 labelled Horwich, operate between Trinity Street Station Bolton and the works entrance.

INVERURIE
Leave the station by Approach Road, and turn right into West High Street. Turn right into Constitution Street, and continue along Harlaw Road. The works entrance is on the right-hand side. Walking time 10 minutes.

NEWTON ABBOT (Diesel shops)
Turn right outside the station into Station Road and first right under a long railway bridge. The works entrance is on the right-hand side just past the bridge. Walking time 5 minutes.

OSWESTRY
Turn right outside the station and left along the side of the goods yard. Turn right into Beatrice Street and continue into Gobowen Road. A footbridge leads from the right-hand side of this road to the works. Walking time 10 minutes.

ST. ROLLOX (GLASGOW)
Turn leftt outside Buchanan Street Station into Buchanan Street, and left again into Parliamentary Road. Turn left at the end into Castle Street, and continue into Springburn Road. The works entrance is on the right-hand side. Walking time 25 minutes.

Board a No. 4 (Stobhill) bus in Hope Street, or a No. 16 or 16A (Balornock East) bus in Bath Street, or a No. 35 (Balornock East) bus in West George Street or Buchanan Street, or a No, 45 (Bishopbriggs) or a N0. 55 (Springburn) bus in Jamaica Street, Union Street or Renfield Street, and alight at the works entrance in Springburn Road.

STRATFORD
A tunnel runs under the railway from William Street to the works and shed. The tunnel entrance is about 20 yards from the main station entrance. To reach the new works continue along the tunnel to the end and proceed through the running shed. To reach the old works turn right into a branch tunnel just before an ” S ” bend in the main tunnel.

Note.—The works are very dispersed, and are partially mixed with the running shed.

SWINDON
Turn right outside Swindon Station along Station Road. Continue into Sheppard Street and London Street. The works entrance is a gate on the right-hand side. Walking time 10 minutes.

Note.—This gate is the entrance to both works and shed.

WOLVERHAMPTON
From Wolverhampton Low Level Station
Turn right outside Wolverhampton Low Level Station into the drive. Turn left at the end into Wednesfield Road and continue along Broad Street to Princes Square. Turn right into Stafford Street, continue along Lower Stafford Street and Stafford Road. The works entrance is on the left-hand side between the two railway over-bridges. Walking time 25 minutes.

From Wolverhampton High Level Station
Go straight ahead outside Wolverhampton High Level Station along Railway Drive. Continue straight across the square at the end into Lichfield Street and turn right into Princes Square. Follow directions from there as from Wolverhampton Low Level Station. Walking time 25 minutes.

A trolley bus service operates from Princes Square past the works entrance.

Note.——The entrance to Dunstall Park Station is on the opposite side of Stafford Road almost opposite the works entrance.

WORCESTER
From Worcester Shrub Hill Station
Turn right outside the station along a narrow footpath running parallel to the railway. Go down the steps at the end of the path and turn right into Tolladine Road. The works entrance is on the left-hand side just past the first railway over-bridge. Walking time 5 minutes.

From Worcester Foregate Street Station
Turn left outside the station into Foregate Street and left again into Sansome Street. Continue into Lowesmoor, fork right into Lowesmoor Place and continue into Tolladine Road. The works entrance is on the left-hand side just past the first railway over-bridge. Walking time 15 minutes.
